Artist's Comments

This is the wooden cross that replaced the original cross Pedro Alvares Cabral set up when he discovered and first landed in Brazil back in 1500. I think the original must have rotted away, of course. In 2000, they also put up a concrete cross as can be seen in my deviation Cabral's Cross.

The shot was taken in Bahia back in 2003 but only now I decided to put it up after going through a dry spell here on DA. Hopefully, I'll be posting up new shots in the upcoming weeks.

Beautiful shot. I love the colour grandient; it's very strong and well managed. I also love the composition as it feels balanced and true while still staying strong against the colour. Great shot as always my friend. =)

the colors of the sky will never cease to amaze me.
the contrast of the cross against the sky and the scale of the trees make a great capture here. :clap:
