Artist's Comments

This shot was taken down in the southern part of Brazil quite a bit ago. I took it while I was down for my summer vacation from college in Canada. During the summer break (which is actually winter down here), it would stop raining for about 5 months and everything would dry up all around you, and the grass would turn completely brown making the surroundings look like a wasteland. But then in December when the rains come back, it would all spring back to life and look like my other shots, such as in Forsaken.

Looks really good!

One thing I'd try is a black border instead of white since it would bring out more the contrasts in the color. White seems to draw the focus away from the clouds, while with black you should be able to notice the white puffy clouds a lot more.

There are two essential basic strategies for success in photography:

1. Never reveal all you know.

Great composition. I love the shadows of the clouds and the dark clouds promising rain to bring everything back to green.
