Artist's Comments

For this Christmas break, our family spent the holidays the first time together in four years at a beach house close to a small city nearby, called Salinopolis. We arrived there late at night and everybody was exhausted from a long trip, but my sister and I decided to go down to the beach by ourselves anyways. There I took this shot of Rachel overlooking the Atlantic Ocean before we finally headed back home.

In the digital darkroom, I darkened the shot significantly and added this warm layer to the image. Hope it turned out nicely.

Edit: Toned down the yellow filter since it was a bit exagerated. I hope it looks better now.

simply gorgeous...

i love the colours and the way the figure is almost dwarfed by the immensity of the scene while still being an integral part of it... excellent...
