In June, I went on a boat trip out to an island off the mouth of the great Amazon River. I took some great shots of the riverside, but what struck me was these little houses on stilts beside the river every few hundred meters at some points. The people who live there have only canoes as their means of transportation ,and I suppose fishing and some fruits from the island as their food. I also took some great pictures of kids out on their canoes following our bigger boat.
We spent around 2 hours on the island and a few hours on the boat ride under a very hot, tropical rainforest sun, but it was definitely worthwhile.
